Description

The 8th magnitude Sculptor galaxy, discovered by Caroline Herschel in 1783, is approximately 90K light-years in diameter and 11 million light-years away.  It is a prominent member of the Sculptor Group, one of the nearest galaxy groups to the Milky Way.
